Brief Description
The Greenway Hub in Newcastle West will act as a focal point for users of the Limerick Greenway, providing the key infrastructure including a public plaza, space for a bike hire depot, café and toilet block, design for universal access, parking facilities, provision of electric vehicle charging, coach and mini bus facilities, lighting, public realm design features including benches, self-compacting rubbish bins, bike stands and bike repair stations. Increased connectivity to the town of Newcastle West is also provided via a new toucan road crossing connecting to the existing Bishops Court trail.
FT Responsibilities
Fehily Timoney and Company Ltd acted as lead consultant for the design stage and have responsibility for the preliminary design, environmental surveys, AA screening, Part VIII consent process and detailed design. FT responsibilities also included:
