Tralee to Listowel Greenway
Sustainable Infrastructure
Brief Description
The proposed Tralee to Listowel Greenway will connect to the Tralee to Fenit Greenway and the Listowel to Abbeyfeale Greenway. The project is expected to be approximately 28-30km in length and aims to create a sustainable transport link between the towns of Tralee and Listowel, and the villages of Abbeydorney and Lixnaw.
The Tralee to Listowel Greenway will create a recreational pathway for use by locals and visitors and aims to provide a high-quality link for cyclists and pedestrians to encourage modal shift to sustainable forms of transport for tourist, recreational and leisure purposes in addition to everyday trip demand.
The Greenway forms part of an overall vision and strategy for the development of an integrated greenway network in Kerry which will enhance the visitor experience and contribute to the economic development of the local communities and the wider region. Provision of universal access points and amenities including car parks, trail heads and rest facilities will be developed as part of the Greenway at a number of strategic locations.
